What you should know before you write anything down
Five things, said plainly, that the product also says at signup and in the assistant’s first words.
Not legal advice
CaseBuilder.Pro is a tool for building a record of what happened to you. It is not a law firm, it does not employ lawyers to advise you, and nothing it shows you, including anything the assistant says, is legal advice. Where you are matters: the product may flag that rules differ by place and that deadlines exist; it will never tell you what they are for you or what you should do. For that, talk to a lawyer or a legal-aid desk.
What you record can be demanded
A record you keep here is not privileged and is not protected by having been written in an app. In a proceeding it can be demanded, and you may have to produce it. Build it accordingly: facts with their sources, allegations marked as allegations, and feelings kept to Mood only. A share for your lawyer exists so that, when the time comes, counsel can take the record over.
Custody and retention
In the free version the record lives on your device, and we hold no copy. We cannot read it, so we cannot hand it over, lose it, or sell it. Paid features that run on our side (a voice interview, reading scans, a review of the whole record, sync, a share for counsel) see only what they need to do their job, each with your consent, and keep it only as long as stated for that feature. Retention periods are published before the first release. Personal information held on our side is encrypted at rest. No third-party trackers run on this site or in the product.
Deletion on request
Anything we hold on your behalf is deleted on your request, and we confirm when it is done. A record on your own device is yours to delete at any time; we never had it.
How AI is used
An AI assistant helps you build the record by asking questions and drafting entries from your answers. It only ever drafts: every entry waits for you to confirm, edit or discard it. It adds nothing you did not say, decides nothing is true, characterises nobody beyond your account, and gives no advice. In the free version it is a text interview on an efficient model within a daily allowance, and it sees only what you send for that turn. Paid features use a stronger model and may see the whole record, under the same consent as any other paid feature. If you bring your own AI, our prompts never leave our side and your key never reaches us.
Other people
Every record names people. Nothing is public by default; there is no public profile, no search, and no sharing without a sign-in. The product may not be used to build a dossier on a private individual for publication or harassment, and we will act on reports that it is. If a public tier ever exists, every person named will be given a chance to respond before anything is published.
